The purpose of this project is to analyze the feasibility of adding holes to the web of universal beam (I-beam), which could reduce weights and be applied to construct the bridge of overhead cranes. This new bridge design could effectively reduce weights and costs for manufacturing. And it’s mechanical properties has been analyzed through finite element method.
